About

I’m a recent college grad going through the motions in pursuit of the American Dream.  Follow the chronicle of my experiences as I pry, beg, bargain, and hustle my way to that fluffy red, white, and blue cloud.

Pleasure making your acquaintance, I am August Chimera, the Madcap.  About 6 months ago, my glory years were coming to an end.  The dreaded date of college graduation was right around the corner.  Like the bastard it is, it stood there, mocking me every time I walked by.  I had to tear the calendar off my wall.  Each day that passed meant I was an unwanted step towards having to become a contributing member of society.  I wouldn’t be able to continue gallivanting around thinking about where I was going to go for happy hour.  Like many of my cronies, I really didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life.  Sure, I’d love to be a professional beer taster, or poker professional, or the lead guitarist of a heavy metal band, shredding solos on stage every night.  But, I held an intervention for myself and came to the conclusion that none of those professions were practical.  Damnit.

One night, like a bat out of hell, an incredible idea hit me.  I was at a party and a girl caught my eye.  Something about her was awry.  Suddenly, an idea for a product jolted into my head.  I concluded after seeing another example of “the problem” that my product idea really had a lot of potential.

Fast forward 6 months, and I am still neck deep in the development of this product.  It’s been a bumpy road, but I’ve gained some interesting experiences along the way.  I have started this blog to detail those experiences and write about the current events leading up to the launch of the product.  Many interesting characters have crossed paths with me on this journey and each will get a series dedicated to my time with them.

The launch of the product to the consumer market is going to be at the end of October (please God.)  The product is going to remain a mystery until the eve of the launch; although, I will be dropping hints from time to time.  However, I will divulge that the product’s main target is girls in college, and secondary, women in the workforce.  I promise that this is a really cool product that you will love!  If not, you can throw a drink in my face, or something . . .

Until then, please subscribe to my blog and help spread it to your friends!  Share with me some of your similar experiences and opinions. I will be forever grateful if you help spread my blog around the web!  Thank ya!

***It’s best to read the posts like a book, from beginning to end.  Since blogs publish the newest post at the top, it’s best to read from the bottom post to the top.  The storyline will make a lot more sense.  The “Madcap of Contents” tab shows the order each of the “series” should be read in.

Disclaimer: My product has nothing to do with hats; madcap is just a metaphor.  A very fitting one . . .

Shoot me an email if you are a fellow entrepreneur looking for some advice.  I have picked up a sliver of knowledge along the way that might be of some help to you.
